Fashion Shoes

Should we buy expensive, branded shoes that will only last a season or two or should we go for the bargain priced shoes that will last us all year? You'll find some online stores specializing in up to the minute fashion shoes. These are usually the cheapest place to buy your shoes. Branded fashion shoes will cost you more but will be better made and will last longer. But does this matter if the shoes are only going to be in fashion for a season? The comfort may be worth it but the quality may not. If you have plenty of spare cash and budget is not a problem then you'll probably go for the branded, or if you can afford it the designer shoes.

Budget fashion shoes are a great option for all of us who work for a living. Not too expensive, we feel good because we can proudly show off our savvy fashion sense and we're not too upset when the fashion changes and we have to throw them out. If I've blown a weeks' wages on a designer pair of shoes and they go out of fashion I'm crying all the way to the bank!

I'm much more likely to invest a large amount of money on a classic pair of shoes or boots than to splash out on an expensive pair of fashion shoes that I know will only last a few weeks. That said I have the occasional pair of fashion shoes in my wardrobe that I probably wouldn't call budget! They were an impulse buy that cost me more than I planned to spend. I'm getting wiser and will now usually go and buy my sensible shoes online with a voucher code or when the sales are on, leaving me extra cash to buy a more expensive pair of fashion shoes. Do I buy the fashion shoes even if I don't like them or they don't suit me? Yes I have to admit I usually do!

Fall Fashion 2011

As school holidays come to an end, we wave goodbye to the hot fashion pieces of summer 2011 and welcome in fall with its fresh styles, colors and accessories, sure to excite fashion divas everywhere. With fall coming up quickly, we are starting to see a wide range of fashion trends that can easily be worn straight through winter. With styles made up of a wide range of materials, colors and clothing items - the possibilities are endless.

Gone are the days of brown, black, and red tweed that were so definitive of past chilly seasons. Rather, the coming season allows for soft and subdued colors as well as bright mood-enhancing tones such as orange, red, and yellow. For those who want to go bright but do not want to go outlandish, burgundy or midnight blue are very elegant, strong options - especially for that all important affair that you have to attend, or for an empowered day at the office. Prints are also back with a bang - whether floral, polka dots, fruity images or something more retro - prints are definitely in for fall 2012. However you wear them, will give you that touch of feminine pizzazz. Just remember... prints are always better when broken with a monotone and neutral tone such as black or white belt, sash or pair of shoes and necklace.

This coming season sees a power play between the need for a masculine look, while remaining charmingly feminine. Manly shirts, suits, boots, and hats are must haves this coming season as women step out onto the streets of New York, London and Paris. Having said that, some designers have stood up for femininity! They have broken up the manly fashion pieces with some girly clothing items that have simply never looked so chic.

Whether choosing a manly or feminine look for a particular day, the designers have broken all boundaries and incorporated a wide range of materials, with a wide range of colors for the coming two seasons. Let's start with sexy leather, whether as one full outfit or combined with fake fur - could you think of a more sensational look?

Pleats and frills are also in, obviously for girls needing to feel feminine and flirty. A great look is to combine a neutral pleated skirt with an interesting print top for fashionable fun. Oh, and girls, just beware, minis are out while maxis and midis have stepped in. Calm down - for those thinking that their sexiness will have to take a step out for the door, think again! The right skirt, teemed with the right belt and shoes is just right for perfect, subtle, sexiness.

Interestingly, designers have also taken the idea of fetishes to a whole new level by giving us Fall and winter styles created on fetish and dominatrix themes. Are you bold enough for it?

As in past seasons of late, layering is another fashion must - as long as you're wearing the right layers. Try a sheer shirt with wide-legged pants for indoor wear, paired with a thin knit sweater for warmth and a coat for outside excursions.

Fashion Merchandising

Fashion Merchandising is growing immensely as a promising career. As a fashion merchandiser, he/she acts as a liaise between the production team and the buyer. A merchandiser is responsible for the planning, production and distribution of the finished product.

While many people go into modeling and fashion design with no real experience and certainly no formal experience, those that do seem to fair much better. Modeling and fashion design colleges can help you lay the foundation for what may become a beautiful career. Modeling and fashion design may appear to be easy and straightforward, but there are many small details that one cannot learn by just stepping into the business. A formal education can clue one into these little details so that you can go into the business with all the confidence in the world. An education through one of many fashion design schools will simply make you seem more reputable to those that you seek employment with, which can open the door to new and exciting things as well.

Modeling and Fashion design colleges have been around since the beginning of the industry for those that really wanted to pursue the business in a professional manner. For a long time these colleges were often laughed at and dismissed, but as more and more unqualified people entered the business place, these fashion design college options seemed more and more worthy. While some just have a knack for modeling and fashion design, most can benefit from some formal training as it enables each person to refine their personal abilities as well as develop new ones that are nice to have in the business.

Fashion Designers

Fashion designing is a profitable business if you have the ability, talent, panache and the flair for it. It is not an easy job and designers should be a lot creative and innovative. He/she must be able to conceptualize fashion and produce garments that can become trends.

The two most common types in fashion are 'PrĂȘt-a Porter,' and 'Haute Couture.' Haute Couture are hi-fashion garments which are 'one-of-its-kind,' and typically meant for the upper class. Pret -a-Porter are ready to wear garments that are produced in bulk. They are further divided into casual wear, evening wear, party wear, swim wear, sports wear, maternity wear etc. The designers can specialize in any one area, by creating a niche for themselves. They can work with any established designers or work as freelancers. They can also work in export houses, buying houses or publications for more guidance on the subject.

There are designers who have made a mark in the field of fashion without any formal training or degree. But, in these days of high fashion having a formal education in designing can take you a long way, especially when you are looking for job. Once you're done with your education, create a good portfolio. A portfolio says a lot about the designer's skills and his/her expertise in the field. It has to reflect the designer's artistic capacity and skill.
